Product Description
The Tempest is a limited Rare Hare Prestige Collection release made from locally sourced Tasmanian malted barley. It has a two-day distillation in traditional wash stills, followed by a slow spirit distillation. The whisky matures in Tasmania, with its warm summers, cool winters and temperate maritime winds.
It spends 17 years in standard-size bourbon barrels and another three in second-fill port casks. The nose has biscotti, vanilla nougat and citrus marmalade. The palate brings stewed apricots, ginger and golden sultanas, followed by a warm finish of toffee and spice. The port finish accounts for three of the full 20 years.
