Product Description
Powers Irish Rye uses a 100% Irish rye mash supplied by Cooney Furlong Farm in County Wexford. It matures in virgin, first-fill and refill American oak. The nose has burnt orange, maraschino cherry, toffee banana and freshly baked rye bread, along with clove, white pepper, ginger and vanilla.
Candied ginger, orange peel, clove and peppermint come through first on the palate. Caramelized apple, brown sugar, sweet cereal and red liquorice follow, balanced by vanilla, charred oak and rye spice. The finish is long, with chili oil, honey-glazed fruit and cereal. To make an Old Pal, stir 30ml each of Powers Irish Rye, Campari and dry vermouth with ice, then garnish with a lemon twist.
