The Glenfiddich 19 Year Old Age of Discovery Bourbon Reserve is the Speyside distillery’s tribute to the explorers who first carried Scotch across the seas — and the first time Glenfiddich matured its renowned single malt for nineteen long years exclusively in seasoned American oak ex-bourbon casks. The extra years in that sweet, vanilla-rich wood give the whisky a depth that rewards a patient drinker.

On the nose it opens with warm, crunchy toffee and bright citrus — marmalade on toast laced with fine orange liqueur — wrapped in gentle oak tannin, vanilla pod, soft leather and a curl of tobacco. The palate is sweet and velvety, unfolding into spicy hints of cardamom and nutmeg before a long, mellow finish. At 40% ABV it stays smooth and supremely approachable, the bourbon-cask sweetness and the spirit in elegant balance.
