Product Description
If you’re checking the alcohol before you buy, Fighting Cock doesn’t hold back: it’s bottled at a bold 103 proof (51.5% ABV), a notch above standard bourbons and exactly what its scrappy rooster label promises. This is a Kentucky straight bourbon built for drinkers who want heat, flavor and attitude in the glass.
Made by the respected Heaven Hill distillery in Bardstown, it delivers a bold, spice-forward profile. Caramel, vanilla and brown sugar sweetness lead into toasted, charred oak, with a generous kick of cinnamon, pepper and allspice from the mash. The extra proof carries it all into a long, warming finish that stays dry and lingering — intense, but surprisingly smooth and well balanced for its strength.
Drink it neat or over a single big cube if you want to tame the heat, but it really earns its keep in cocktails: the high proof powers through an Old Fashioned, Manhattan or whiskey sour without getting lost. For a bourbon with this much character at this price, it’s hard to beat.
