Product Description
The Caymus California Cabernet Sauvignon is the Wagner family’s statewide take on the wine that made their name — and the 2021 is the vintage that launched it. Rather than drawing from a single district, Caymus sources Cabernet from prime sites across California and blends them into a wine that carries the plush, generous house style at a more approachable price than the Napa Valley bottling.
It pours dark and opens with a bouquet of blackberry, cassis and black cherry, threaded with vanilla and a note of mocha from its time in oak. The palate is where Caymus earns its following: smooth, full-bodied and luxurious, with ripe dark-fruit flavour, well-structured tannins and a long, satisfying finish. This is unmistakably Caymus — rich and velvety, easy to love even if big Cabernet isn’t usually your pour.
Serve it with something hearty: a grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, or a board of aged cheeses. It’s polished enough to enjoy on its own tonight, yet has the structure to rest in the cellar for a few years if you’d rather wait. 750ml.
