Bulleit Bourbon Whiskey

Searching for “Bulleit Scotch”? It’s an easy mix-up, but Bulleit isn’t a Scotch at all — it’s a Kentucky straight bourbon, and one of the most recognisable American whiskeys on the back bar. The distinction matters: where Scotch is distilled from malted barley in Scotland, Bulleit is a corn-based bourbon made and aged in Kentucky, and its calling card is rye.

That high-rye mash bill — roughly 68% corn, 28% rye and 4% malted barley — gives Bulleit its signature bold, spicy character. Aged in charred American oak, it pours medium amber and drinks smooth: sweet oak and gentle spice up front, maple, toffee and nutmeg through the middle, and a long, dry, clean finish.
