Product Description
50 & 50 began with the 1988 vintage, combining Sangiovese from Capannelle and Merlot from Avignonesi in equal proportions. The original blend was created when the former owners compared their wines over dinner. The Sangiovese comes from Chianti and the Merlot from Montepulciano. The wine is Toscana IGT and spends about 24 months in barrique.
Violet and rose-petal aromas lead into an elegant palate where freshness and smoothness meet. The tannins are ripe and silky, and the finish is long and satisfying.
Serve it with game, roast meat, red meat or strong cheese.
