Important Notice - you must be at least 21 years of age to purchase wine
and/or spirits. Due to
federal and state regulations, all wine and/or spirits shipments must be received by an
adult 21 years of age or older. By placing your
order, you have represented to Purdy’s that you are at least 21 years of age. All
alcoholic beverages that Purdy’s arranges for shipment
on your behalf must be received and signed for by an adult of legal drinking age. Any
items purchased from Purdy’s will be delivered with
an "Adult Signature Required" designation, and the third-party carrier that delivers the
items must verify identification from someone 21
years of age or older upon delivery.
Shipping:
Many states within the United States have laws regulating the shipment of alcohol into
their jurisdiction and may limit and/or prohibit
the amount and/or type that can enter the state without permits or licenses. Purdy’s
does not, itself, provide shipping services. If you
wish to have your purchase shipped, Purdy’s will contact a third-party common carrier to
ship on your behalf. Unfortunately, common carriers
will not deliver alcohol to all states - those states have been removed from our
shipping options at checkout. Common carriers also cannot
deliver alcoholic beverages to a PO, APO, or FPO box.
By arranging for transportation of alcoholic beverages by a third-party carrier, Purdy’s
is providing a service to, and acting on behalf
of, you, as the purchaser and title holder of the products purchased. By placing an
order with Purdy’s and asking Purdy’s to arrange for
transportation and delivery of products on your behalf, you are expressly representing
and warranting that you have reviewed any pertinent
local, state and federal laws and regulations before purchasing alcohol on this website
and that your purchase complies with all applicable
local, state, and federal laws and regulations. You further represent and warrant that
you have obtained any required permission, paid any
required fees, are working through properly licensed intermediates where required, are
legally entitled to take possession of the alcoholic
beverages, are legally entitled to take the quantities ordered, will comply with any
applicable tax laws, and that you and the person
accepting delivery of the alcoholic beverages are at least 21 years of age.
Purdy’s makes no representation as to the legality of shipping to any state outside of
New York and does not assume any responsibility
for obtaining any necessary licenses or permits. If you have a specific question about

All shipping costs, including insurance, assessed by the third-party carrier are to be
paid by you, the purchaser. An insurance fee may
be placed on transportation arrangements for rare or expensive items. Purdy’s provides
transportation coordination as a complimentary
service and does not profit from any delivery arrangements we make on your behalf.
Purdy’s makes no warranties or guarantees regarding the
transportation or delivery by the third-party common carrier.
For local deliveries via Purdy’s truck or messenger, if there is no one is available to
accept your shipment, and/or no one able to provide
appropriate proof of identification at the time of attempted delivery, you may be
subject to a $20 charge for re-delivery. For orders sent
via a third-party common carrier, if there is no one available to accept your shipment,
and/or no one able to provide proof of identification
at the time of attempted delivery, you may be liable for the costs to reship the order.
Title of Ownership:
By placing an order with Purdy’s, you assume title to the merchandise upon tendering full
payment. All title to, and ownership of, all
alcoholic beverages passes from Purdy’s to you in New York State. Therefore, New York
State sales tax is applied to your order. All items
must be paid for in full prior to arrangements for delivery. Purdys’ performance
obligation under the purchase agreement for the sale of
alcohol is complete upon tender of the merchandise to a third-party carrier for
transportation and delivery.
Substitution of Items; Returns:
If one or more items you have selected are not available for shipment, we will notify you
to offer substitutions or make other
arrangements. If we are unsuccessful in contacting you, we will refund part of an order,
or the entire order, as applicable based on the
missing item(s).
Customer satisfaction remains our top priority. We ask that you inspect your package
immediately upon delivery, and that you promptly
contact us with any issues with respect to the quality and condition of products
received.
By placing an order for spirits with Purdy’s and asking Purdy’s to arrange for
transportation and delivery of such products on your
behalf, you understand that Purdy’s will pack your items using standard industry methods
and additional wrapping as needed to ensure the
safety of your spirits order during transit. However, should your package be
damaged in transit, there will be zero recourse available
to you for reimbursement or replacement of said items being shipped from either Purdy’s
or the third-party carrier. When placing a spirits
order, you agree to the above and waive all right of recourse.
We will only accept returns if the merchandise is defective in quality. The New York
State Alcoholic Beverage Control Law prohibits the return
of alcoholic beverages for any other reason, including liquor or wine purchased in
customer error.
Weather Conditions:
Please be advised that shipments will not automatically be held depending on high or low
temperatures in your area. Your purchase
confirms authorization of immediate shipment and delivery.
Purdy’s does not guarantee that third-party carriers have temperature-controlled
warehouses. Accordingly, Purdy’s suggests that you refrain
from placing orders during extremely hot or cold weather. If you must request shipping
during extreme weather conditions, we encourage you to
place your order at the beginning of the week using a faster service than ground
shipping to avoid weekend layovers in a carrier's warehouse.
Purdy’s reserves the right to delay releasing your merchandise to the third-party
carrier for shipment in order to ensure that the product you
receive is of the highest quality possible.
Estimated Shipping Times:
Shipping times do not include Saturday and Sunday. Most orders leave our store within 1-3
business days. Many orders placed early in the
day are sent to the third-party carrier same day. Purdy’s does not guarantee any
estimated shipping time. For more precise information as to
shipping time, please contact the third-party carrier who is contracted to deliver your
merchandise.
Overnight, 2nd Day, & 3-Day Air services are available at an additional cost, as
assessed by the third-party carrier. Processing
