Bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof), it’s infused with green bell pepper, chili and jalapeño for a savory, spicy character that’s a world away from plain vodka — and because it’s distilled from winter wheat, it’s gluten-free with no added sugar.
Absolut launched Peppar in 1986 as its very first flavored vodka, made the same way as the classic: from winter wheat and pure deep-well water at the distillery in Åhus, in southern Sweden. The peppers give it a fresh, vegetal bite up front and a gently warming finish that lingers.
It was practically built for the Bloody Mary — pour it over ice with tomato juice, lemon and your favorite spices for a Bloody Mary (or Caesar) with real backbone. It also makes a fiery twist on a martini or a clean, savory shot. If spice is your thing, this is the bottle to reach for.
