Product Description
Vigneti Del Sole Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is designed to be the kind of Italian red you actually drink, not just save. Made from 100% Montepulciano grown in Abruzzo, the vineyards sit on calcareous and clay soils just inland from the Adriatic Sea, between Chieti and Casalbordino. This mix of hillside elevation, cooling sea influence, and mineral-rich soil gives the grape plenty of ripeness while holding onto freshness and structure.
In the cellar, the focus is on clarity of fruit rather than heavy oak. The wine is vinified and aged entirely in stainless steel, with controlled temperatures during fermentation and malolactic fermentation carried out in tank. This approach locks in vibrant aroma and color while rounding the texture, so you get a smooth, polished mouthfeel without toasty or vanilla notes dominating the glass.
In the glass, expect a deep ruby hue and an immediately inviting nose of red and dark fruits: cherry, strawberry, blackberry, and plum, layered with sweet spice and a touch of white pepper. On the palate, it sits in that sweet spot between medium and full body. Tannins are present but soft, giving the wine enough grip to stand up to food while still feeling easygoing and approachable. Bright, mouthwatering acidity keeps the wine lively from start to finish, making it a natural fit for the dinner table.
Stylistically, this Montepulciano is built for versatility. Around 12.5% ABV and bottled under screw cap, it’s an uncomplicated, reliable choice when you want something satisfying without fuss. It shines alongside classic Italian comfort foods, pizza with tomato sauce, baked ziti, lasagna, meatballs, and antipasti boards, but it’s just as comfortable with burgers, grilled sausages, or a simple roasted chicken.
Vigneti Del Sole Montepulciano d’Abruzzo offers real value: authentic regional character, clean modern winemaking, and a generous, fruit-driven profile that works any night of the week, whether you’re cooking from scratch or ordering in.
