Unrated Xtra Cab Cabernet Sauvignon

Unrated Xtra Cab Cabernet Sauvignon is designed for drinkers who want Cabernet turned up to eleven. Sourced from “Xtraordinary” parcels of Cabernet vineyards in Chile’s top regions, including Maipo, Maule, and Cachapoal within the greater Central Valley, it aims to capture the grape at full intensity, ripe fruit, structure, and complexity, without feeling rigid or old-fashioned. 

In the glass, the wine shows a deep, inky red color that hints at its concentration. The nose opens with dark red berries, blackberry, blackcurrant, and ripe plum, backed by notes of cocoa, mocha, and toasty oak. Subtle layers of spice and savory herbs add complexity without overpowering the fruit. 

On the palate, Unrated Xtra Cab is unapologetically bold. It’s full-bodied with rich, dense fruit at the core and a velvety mouthfeel. Sweet-edged, fine-grained tannins wrap around flavors of black fruits, dark chocolate, and gently roasted coffee, supported by a fresh line of acidity that keeps the wine from feeling heavy. The finish is long, satisfying, and distinctly “Xtra”, lingering notes of berry, oak, and spice encourage another sip. 

Behind the wine is winemaker Isabel Mitarakis, a highly regarded talent in Chile’s new generation of producers. She blends mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with a small portion of Cabernet Franc and other red varieties, then ages the wine in French oak to build texture and aromatic depth while keeping the fruit front and center. With an alcohol level in the mid-14% range, it delivers serious presence in the glass without losing balance. 

Unrated Xtra Cab is built for the table as much as for sipping on its own.
