Product Description
Plantador Silver Tequila is a modern bartender’s workhorse built on old-school tequila values. Crafted in Arandas in the Los Altos region of Jalisco, it begins with 100% estate-grown Blue Weber agave, harvested at 6–8 years of maturity when natural sugars are at their peak. The name “Plantador” honors the agave growers whose work in the fields underpins every bottle, emphasizing a connection to land, plants, and people rather than flashy shortcuts.
At the distillery (NOM 1414), the agave piñas are slow-roasted in traditional brick ovens using steam for around a full day, allowing their fibers to soften and caramelized sweetness to develop. The cooked agave is then crushed with a roller mill and fermented in stainless steel tanks without fibers, using proprietary yeasts—including rum yeast—in open-air conditions. Fermentation runs for a minimum of roughly four days, reportedly accompanied by classical music, a “Mozart method” approach some producers believe supports a more harmonious fermentation.
The resulting mosto is double-distilled in copper pot stills to 40% ABV, preserving vibrant agave character while refining off-notes for a clean finish. Plantador Silver is certified additive-free by independent verification, meaning its flavor comes from agave, time, yeast, and technique, not sweeteners, coloring, or “texture enhancers.”
In the glass, expect a crystal-clear tequila with a subtle silver sheen. Aromas lean into cooked agave with citrus and gentle herbal notes, backed by hints of minerals and a touch of vanilla or soft creaminess. On the palate, it drinks light-to-medium bodied, with flavors of sweet agave, lime zest, peach or other stone fruit, cracked black pepper, and a whisper of lemongrass before a crisp, dry finish.
That balance of freshness and subtle complexity makes Plantador Silver Tequila equally at home in a classic margarita, a paloma, a simple tequila-and-soda, or poured neat over ice with a wedge of lime. It’s a straightforward, honest highland blanco that delivers real agave character, thoughtful production, and strong value in a bottle that’s easy to reach for again and again.
