Moët Collection Impériale Création No. 1 Brut Nature represents a defining moment for Moët & Chandon. As the maison’s first-ever Brut Nature prestige cuvée, it removes the influence of dosage entirely, allowing the core ingredients, fruit quality, cellar time, and blending mastery, to shine without disguise. This release marks the beginning of the new Collection Impériale series, conceived to showcase the pinnacle of Moët’s winemaking as it moves toward its 300th anniversary.

The composition is built on a vibrant 2013 base, selected for its natural tension and clarity. To that foundation, the house incorporates reserve wines from six additional vintages: 2012, 2010, 2008, 2006, 2004, and 2000. Each vintage contributes something distinct: brightness, structure, richness, or maturity. A portion is aged in stainless steel to preserve freshness, while others rest in oak casks to build texture and subtle spice. Some older components spend extended time on lees in bottle, adding savory depth and creamy complexity to the final blend of 40% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir, and 20% Meunier.

On the palate, Création No. 1 is strikingly pure. It opens with citrus, green apple, and white peach before unfurling into brioche, toasted almond, cocoa, and a gentle smoky edge. The mousse is fine and energetic, the acidity clean and precise, and the finish long, saline, and mineral-driven. Without added sugar, every detail is sharper, leaving a profile that is both bone-dry and remarkably expressive.

This cuvée is ideal for refined food pairings: oysters, scallops, lobster, delicate fish, roasted poultry, and aged soft cheeses. Création No. 1 is not only a landmark release for collectors, but a Champagne that reveals Moët & Chandon at its most deliberate, transparent, and elegant.
