Product Description
Luigi Francoli Grappa di Moscato captures the expressive personality of Moscato grapes in a refined, crystal-clear spirit. Made from the freshly pressed pomace of Moscato grown in the historic hills of Piedmont, this grappa focuses on purity of fruit, aromatic lift and textural finesse rather than heavy oak or sweetness.
This is a true single-varietal grappa: all of the raw material comes from Moscato, a grape prized for its naturally floral, grapey perfume. Once the wine has been drawn off, the remaining skins are quickly transported to the Francoli distillery and distilled while still fresh, helping to lock in the grape’s vivid aromatics. The distillate then rests around eight months in inert stainless-steel or similar neutral containers, allowing it to soften and harmonize without picking up color or flavor from wood. The result is a grappa that pours totally transparent but delivers surprising depth in the glass.
On the nose, Luigi Francoli Grappa di Moscato is immediately expressive: notes reminiscent of warm spiced raisin bread, dried figs, and toasted nuts are layered over a core of white flowers and citrus zest. Take a sip and the 42% ABV is beautifully balanced by a rounded, almost buttery mouthfeel. Flavors of vanilla, gentle anise, a cool mint lift and subtle baking spice carry across the palate, finishing medium in length with a lingering softness that invites another sip.
Serve it neat at cool room temperature as a classic digestif, or pair it with an espresso for the perfect close to a meal. The grappa’s fruity-floral profile and smooth texture also make it an excellent partner for chocolate desserts, tiramisù, panna cotta, or simple vanilla sponge and pound cakes. For adventurous drinkers and bartenders, its aromatic lift can bring character to spirit-forward cocktails that call for grappa or fragrant brandy.
