Product Description
Donna Laura ‘Ali’ Rosato is a Tuscan rosé that puts Sangiovese center stage. Sourced from vineyards in Toscana IGT at around 350 meters above sea level, the grapes grow on lime- and clay-rich soils scattered with gravel, a combination that helps maintain freshness and aromatic intensity in the fruit.
This wine is made from 100% Sangiovese harvested at the end of August, when the grapes balance ripeness with firm natural acidity. In the cellar, bunches are carefully sorted in the vineyard and again by optical sorter to ensure only clean, healthy fruit moves forward. After a gentle crush, the juice stays on the skins for roughly two hours, just enough time to pick up its pale pink hue and subtle structure without extracting bitterness. Fermentation and aging take place in stainless steel, preserving the wine’s bright fruit and crisp profile.
In the glass, ‘Ali’ Rosato is delicate in color but expressive on the nose, with aromas of wild strawberries, cherries, and citrus, often leaning into pink grapefruit and a light saline edge. On the palate, it is dry, medium-light in body, and driven by red berry fruit, watermelon-like juiciness, and vibrant acidity. A long, mouthwatering finish makes it particularly moreish without feeling heavy.
At 12.5% ABV, this is a versatile rosé that works as both an aperitif and a serious food partner. Serve it well-chilled with grilled shrimp, salmon, tomato and mozzarella salad, light seafood pasta, pizza, or simple roasted chicken with herbs. It also pairs comfortably with soft, creamy cheeses like burrata or fresh goat cheese.
The name “Ali,” meaning “wings” in Italian, honors owner Lia Tolaini-Banville’s daughter and reflects the wine’s light, uplifting character. The label artwork, featuring a detail of Cupid from the Bramosia Chianti Classico label, adds an artistic, romantic touch that stands out on the shelf.
For those looking for a genuine Tuscan rosé that is dry, characterful, and food-friendly, Donna Laura ‘Ali’ Rosato delivers authenticity, quality, and a memorable story in every bottle.
