At its core, Discovery #10 is firmly rooted in Kentucky. Roughly 86% of the blend is made up of Kentucky-sourced bourbons ranging from 6 to 13 years old, giving the whiskey a classic, mature backbone of oak, baking spice, and dark sweetness. The profile is then pushed into more adventurous territory with two 10-year components: one from Georgia and one from Tennessee. These out-of-state bourbons add layers of caramel richness, subtle wheat softness, and a touch of bright nutty citrus, transforming the whiskey from “very good” into something genuinely distinctive. 

Bottled at 114.24 proof (57.12% ABV), Discovery #10 delivers serious flavor concentration without feeling abrasive when treated with respect. On the nose, you’ll find a combination of toasted pecan, maple sweetness, and warm baked cherry, all wrapped in seasoned oak. The palate follows through with a dessert-like mix of vanilla cream, hazelnut, cocoa, and rich caramel, supported by well-integrated spice from the rye content in the Kentucky high-rye component. The finish is long and satisfying, balancing decadent sweetness with drying oak and a persistent, warm spice that encourages slow sipping.
